Shots For Pets, the original low-cost mobile pet vaccination service in San Diego, is coming regularly to a neighborhood near you.”We guarantee the lowest-cost vaccination so that San Diego’s pets can be their healthiest at the most reasonable cost possible,” said Janet Thompson, new owner of the mobile clinic. “We do nail trimming and ear and eye cleaning. We also do microchipping.”With microchipping, Thompson said that if a dog is lost and taken in by someone else, the pet can scanned to find its owner.She added her mobile clinic doesn’t try to be all things to all people. “We just try to be the best at what we do – mobile vaccination,” she said.The mobile pet clinic charges $40 for microchipping and $10 for nail trimming and ear cleaning. Individual vaccinations cost $6 for rabies, $17 for rattlesnake, $6 for DHP Parvo, $12 for Corona and Bordetela, $14 for Lyme, and $10 to $30 for roundworm and tapeworm deworming. Vaccination packages for puppies and kittens range from $18 to $45.Shots For Pets was created by Jay W. Shrock, D.V.M., who is also the founder of the ABC Veterinary Hospitals in San Diego County.Thompson said Shots For Pets, which has a number of veterinarians on staff,sets up in front of local pet stores or grooming facilities for one and a half to two hours on selected days for the convenience of clients.”We love San Diego and we love all the pets,” said Thompson, noting the North Inland region she currently covers has a client base of 29,000, which she intends to expand along the coast. “We’re trying to gear ourselves to go around to the beaches where people are out with their pets to make it convenient for them,” she said.For more information call (619) 478-1387 or visit www.shotsforpets.com.
